Twilight Hotel will dodge some inevitable cold weather with a February trip to Memphis. The young roots duo has been invited to showcase at the 2007 International Folk Alliance Conference, a very big deal in the folk and roots scene. Unlike music conferences like Austinís South by Southwest and Torontoís North by Northeast, the Folk Alliance Conference doesnít feature hundreds of showcasing bands, keeping it to a mere 125 acts. In the past five years, Manitoba acts have only won a couple of official showcase spots from Folk Alliance. Twilight Hotel will have the opportunity to perform in front of countless international festival buyers and industry bigwigs which could secure a solid multiplication of the bandís frequent flyer miles. The band will also head to New York for the Northeast Regional Folk Alliance next month. Local audiences can catch the duo at Times Change(d) on November 3 and at the Solid Ground Arts & Coffee Room in Lorette on November 4.
