Kimberley Dawn hits #1

Feb 28, 2007 Winnipeg Entertainer Kimberley Dawn is once again making waves in the Indie music scene. Her hit single Spirit of Our People written by Winnipegger Billy Simard has reached #1 status on the Top 30 charts as reported by NCI 101.5 FM. Its really exciting seeing something that you have worked so hard for finally come to fruition and I am so pleased that my fans love the new song, says Kimberley Dawn.

In addition to having a #1 single on the charts Kimberley Dawn also just received confirmation of funding support from the Manitoba Film & Sound; sound recording program which means that a new album will now be in the works for her. We are thrilled that the Manitoba music industry overall has been so supportive of Kimberley Dawn and her talents; and we are very excited to be working with top industry professionals such as Chris Burke-Gaffney of CBG Artist Development Group, who will Executive Produce the upcoming album. Chris years of experience and keen business sense will help us take Kimberleys music to the next level, says Shelly-Anne Hays, Business Manager. Many of the songs slated for the new album are written by award winning Manitoban songwriters including; Ray St.Germain, Chris Burke-Gaffney, Billy Simard, and Doc Walker.

Kimberley Dawn was also recently designated as the Foster Parents Plan spokesperson for Manitobas Child and Family Agencies and the Manitoba Government upcoming advertising campaign. She will be featured on posters throughout the city and will share her message through radio ads across Manitoba in support of this much needed program.

Kimberley Dawn will also serve as one of the judge panelists for the new Star Catcher aboriginal talent competition which is touring Manitoba in search of the next rising star. At each judging event Kimberley Dawn performs a few songs with Errol Ranville of C-Weed and his band. Possible stops on this tour in 2007 include: Hollow Water (March 3rd ), Norway House (March 17th), Vision Quest Conference - Winnipeg (May 15th), Oak Point (June 2nd), and finals will take place at the Red River Exhibition on National Aboriginal Day June 21st, 2007.

Kimberley Dawn has also graciously accepted another honor to emcee and perform at the upcoming event Lets Celebrate being organized by Cancer Care Manitoba, Womens Health Clinic, Manitoba Breast Screening Program, and the Manitoba Cervical Cancer Screening Program which is being held during Womens Week in Winnipeg at the Garrick Centre Theatre 1 330 Gary Street, March 7th @ 6:30pm-8:30pm.
