2008 WCMA Call for Submissions

The Western Canadian Music Alliance will begin accepting applications for the WCMA Artistic Awards, Industry Awards, and Festival showcases on April 1.

Performers from across western Canada are encouraged to visit www.westerncanadianmusicawards.ca, and submit their electronic press kits for festival showcase and award nominations through Sonicbids (www.sonicbids.com).

Submitting an EPK has never been easier, and solo, duo, group performers from all genres will have the opportunity to showcase in front of booking agents, promoters, radio, managers, and members of the music industry professionals from as far away as Austin, TX to Barcelona, Spain, and all musical hotbeds in between.

Edmonton, AB will play host to the 6th Annual Western Canadian Music Awards, October 16 � 19. While participating festival venues and the number of available showcase performance opportunities have yet to be confirmed, organizers say that previous years have had an average of 300 applications for 70 showcase times.

Award nominations (for releases between January 1, 2007 and March 31, 2008) may be submitted in 20 different artistic categories and 11 different industry categories.
