Quinzy Makes Up Its Own Rules

Hailing from the mighty prairie province of Manitoba, young indie popsters Quinzy are getting set for the release of their much anticipated debut CD, One Boys Guide To The Moon. The independently released 6-song CD will be available for purchase on iTunes this Tuesday, June 24th and willbe the first in a series of 3 CDs to be released from Quinzy in the upcoming months.

Thats right... 3 CDs. In 2008, Quinzy have decided to glut the market with 3 CDs containing vast amounts of music. The first one is the aforementioned One Boys Guide To The Moon (available June 24, 2008), the second installment will be entitled These Nautical Miles (release date TBA) and the third disc in keeping with the sky/sea/earth thematic will likely be called Oh Precious Dirt or something.

Why 3 CDs? Well, Quinzy say, Why not? With the music industry in the crapper and no traditional record deal on the horizon for the band in the near future, Quinzy are going to release their music the way they want and tour as much as they can selling their CDs along the way. So, if the band wants to put out 3 CDs in relatively quick succession, so be it. This way, at least we get to enjoy the sweet, sweet music.

Quinzy is Dave & Jason Pankratz and Sandy & Jamie Taronno, two pairs of brothers who are also cousins because their mothers are sisters. Their debut CD One Boys Guide To The Moon was produced by legendary record producer Michael Phillip Wojewoda (Barenaked Ladies, Rheostatics).
