Manitoba Songfest Begins 2014 Search for Manitoba's Favourite Song

Manitoba Songfest has launched its call for submissions for the 2014 contest and artists from around the province once again have the opportunity to submit their original songs to the multi-platform musical showcase.

Ten songs will be selected from the submitted entries to participate in the contest, beginning with radio semifinals on CJ Radio stations in Manitoba. Next, all the artists will perform at a live concert at the Park Theatre on Sunday, April 13, 2014. There, six artists will progress to the final based on the semifinal results before an audience text message poll, along with points awarded by a panel of judges, determines Manitoba’s new favourite local song.

The artists’ journey from selection to the finale will be captured in an exciting documentary on MTS TV’s Stories from Home service, providing double the exposure for the musicians and a snapshot in time of Winnipeg’s rich music and cultural scene. The winning artist will also receive eight hours of studio time at ClearLightSound and have their song added to fast rotation on CJ Radio stations in Manitoba.
