Following a successful submission of her album artwork to Breaking The Silence On Domestic Violence, an awareness event that will be held at the Winnipeg Art Gallery on Friday Nov 23rd, lead singer-songwriter, Christine Marek, from black-eyed SUZIE was contacted by Coordinator, Dr. Zita Zomakoko and asked to contribute to the performance stage portion of the event, along with The Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, CLEAR VOX and other survivors of domestic violence who will share their stories through music and poetry. 

Christine's artwork will be on display in the Lecture Hall from 11 am to 8 pm along with 35 other local artists. The band will take the stage in the Muriel Richardson Auditorium between 6 and 8 pm to share their personal stories through a selection of compelling and heartfelt songs narrated by their good friend and survivor, Dr, Alexis Botkin.

In further support of this event, the band will make an appearance on Winnipeg’s Live CTV Morning Show, Thursday, Nov.22nd at 8 am to talk about their creative work and personal experiences in relation to this issue.
