New pop/rock single, "You Make Me Smile" out on Jan 19

“You Make Me Smile” is a light, Beatlesque song, with a jazzy harmony, heavier use of synths and a vocal performance by Jon Bakke. 

My daughter came up with the direction for the main lyrical idea for the song, after I said that I didn't want to write a regular cheesy love song, despite the music fitting the idea of one. 

It's not my first collaboration with Jon, who previously lent his vocals to "Oh Dear World”, released during the pandemic.

I've played all the instruments on this track, and mixed it. Musicians, guitarists in particular, should pay special attention to the lyrics.
