Neighbour Andy’s music feels like putting on your dad’s favourite record: nostalgic and warm. The quintet from Winnipeg, Canada is a young and fresh indie band by traditional artistic standards, but listen to their music and you’ll find yourself grasping at a sense of familiarity - their melodies and charismatic signature vocals capture a comfort once thought only to be achieved by bands that stand the test of time. 

Their sound layers an unlikely magnetic mix of indie rock, Americana and an alternative twist reminiscent of young love and your “good old days.” Balanced by tenderhearted lyrical dissonance, the boys — Drake Lesperance (vocals), Mark Davidson (guitar), MacKenzie Jackson (bass), Joel d’Eschambault (keys), Jordan Alexiuk (drums) — sparked popularity via word of mouth in August 2022 upon releasing their debut summer single, 71, a track inspired by rosy-lensed coming-of-age memories in Mark’s childhood home.

They released their debut self-titled EP just a few weeks later, selling out their 500-cap release show at Winnipeg’s Park Theatre, and have sold out multiple performances in the short time since in venues across Canada — proving a loyal cult following in their live show — and have been a featured performer at festivals like NXNE, Festival du Voyageur, and on CBC Radio.

Neighbour Andy’s fall 2023 album debut, Wild One, is a testament to the band’s artistic maturity and that intangible but ever-present sense of familiarity in the hearts of their listeners.
