Every Wednesday for 16 weeks during the summer of 2008, I bought various musicians down to MCM studios in Winnipeg. None of them knew who else would be coming. They only knew that they were going to have to write and record a song that evening, likely with people who came from a very different musical background. I would then mix it in the middle of the night after everyone had left, and make it available for download the following morning. Each session was marked by magical moments between musicians that had never met - laughter, collaboration, a willingness to experiment beyond one's regular creative process, and a desire to make something memorable. It was great to witness and be a part of so many different musical experiences every week. Proceeds from the sales are being donated to the West End Cultural Centre as they rebuild their exceptional venue. Thank you so much for listening, and for supporting this project.
