Dublum Records is pleased to announce it's first release, the "Double Dip" EP by Cyclist. This collection of 4 disco infused songs will be officially released on CD and digital format on Tuesday, July 27th 2010. There will be a CD release party at the Lo Pub August 5th with Mike B and Rob Vilar.
Double Dip explores the eras of disco, electro and proto house and mashes them up into a blend of hand claps, gooey synth bass lines and live guitar funk. "These songs are really what got the whole Cyclist project going.", says Mark Penner AKA Cyclist "I've always been a huge disco fan and I don't quite get to let it all out playing with Moses Mayes. I wanted to make something a little more DJ friendly and these grooves just started to flow. This is just the beginning."
As a special promotion, all CDs pre-ordered in Winnipeg will be hand delivered by Cyclist via bicycle. "I didn't really like the idea of people spending money on delivery charges to get their music. I'd rather they use that money to support other artists. So this way they save that money and I get more exercise!". "Prime Cut" will be the first single from Double Dip and is featured in a music video directed by Lena Franford and Troy Giesbrecht.
