I performed all the guitar, bass, drums and vocals on this album.  I named it Everwater when I noticed the unintended recurring theme of water throughout most of the songs.  To me, the influences of the music I was listening to during the writing process are instantly noticeable on each of the six songs: Plini, Matthew Good, Alter Bridge, Opeth, Skyharbor and Sevendust.

I approached the writing and recording process differently than on all of my previous work.  Rather than prepare a group of songs to bring in to a studio to be recorded, I decided it was time to construct a makeshift studio of my own.  This studio was able to follow me throughout several moves in southern Manitoba from 2011 to 2016.  Once the recordings were completed I would send them to my cousin Ryan in Calgary, where he would mix, engineer and add piano and other instruments that to this day I still occasionally discover deep within the mix.

Lyrically, I offered a critique of the American political system (it's a joke), told the story of a community trying to fend off a natural disaster (it floods), described an individual crying out to their partner to save them from overwhelming odds (they do), told the story of a relationship stuck in a cycle of love and hate (it continues) and described an individual whose worsening pain drives them to continually seek relief through any means necessary (painkillers).
