Doing a New Thing. This is Katrina's sophmore album, released in October 2018. Her debut album, Blue & Beyond, came after she suffered personal loss, pushing her towards songwriting. Doing a New Thing is a collection of 11 songs with very sweet, almost fairytale-like arrangements. Van Humbeck puts her pianist and performer skills to work creating songs of love, loss, and living life. Her voice, expressive, genuine, and exuding passion, has been likened to that of a Disney princess. She is joined by a full rhythm section, a string trio of two violins and cello, trumpet, saxophone, acoustic guitar, and percussionist.
