Mariachi Ghost member Tim Friesen recently released Trinsicate - Solutions, an album of new pop music, available on streaming platforms and to purchase online. While the local indie musician is no stranger to the recording studio, Trinsicate marks a unique musical direction for the long-time Winnipeg performer. Trinsicate ranges from pop to alternative and the outright weird and experimental.
As a full-time band and choir teacher, Friesen has pulled together a distinct blend of synth, organ and keys along with sax, trumpet, electric guitar, and drums. Local Winnipeg recording engineer Craig Boychuk collaborated with Friesen on production, while also filling drum, and guitar duties. Rafael Reyes (Mariachi Ghost) played guitar and Tyler Yip (Soul Shakedown) performed baritone and tenor saxophone. The album took four years start to finish. The Solutions album art features the simple yet elegant blending of oil paint and digital art techniques by local graphic designer Amy Wood (Mariachi Ghost).
