The importance of secure housing as a social determinant of health is well established. Safe housing and a sense of home will have substantial positive effects on health and wellbeing. These are things that medicines and pharmaceuticals will never replace or provide.
Almost ten years ago, I began production of the classical piano album "Keys to Home". That project raised over $17,000 for Habitat for Humanity Manitoba. As we are approaching the 10 year anniversary of "Keys to Home", I have decided to celebrate it with a new album where 100% of proceeds will benefit Habitat for Humanity again.
"In Repair" is my take on John Mayer's album "Continuum" with cello as the feature instrument. "Continuum" is a personal favourite and has accompanied me through many difficult periods. Creating my own version of this important album initially served as a coping mechanism for my own personal journey (Aren't we all in some form of repair?). It is my hope that the completed project will serve not only as a form of musical expression but also to facilitate the improvement of affordable housing as a social determinant of health.
100% of proceeds will go to Habitat for Humanity Manitoba.
