“Want You So Bad” is a song about lust, desire, longing and fantasy. It’s a song about intimate physical connectedness. It’s a song about the secret sensual desires we all have... the lovers' perfect secret encounter and the perfect escape we all long for. 

I wrote this song during a very difficult, private time in my life when I needed to escape and feel consumed by desire and fantasy. I wrote this song in my studio in one short session. It was just me and my acoustic guitar, singing, almost whispering, very quietly, the words and melody barely escaping my mouth, huddled into myself and my guitar, eyes tightly shut.

Through experiencing the private intimacy of this creative moment and the trembling, heart pounding rush of adrenaline flooding my brain when the song was finished, I knew I had written something fragile, beautiful, vulnerable and powerful. 

I thought to myself “Am I allowed to write this? Am I allowed to sing this?” And at that moment, with all of these “am I allow’eds” rushing through my thoughts, I knew I needed to send this out into the world.
