Doc Walker Hits Winnipeg Running

Posted on

Its been a long time since Manitoban bar-band-turned-country-superstars Doc Walker played a proper show in Winnipeg. Aside from a show at last summers Dauphin Countryfest, the five-piece has been busy focusing on the rest of the country, a move that has seen the band sell over 10,000 copies of its third album, Everyone Aboard.

Three Canadian Country Music Awards and a whole new heap of fans later, the band is ready to come back home, and do it in style. Doc Walker isnt setting up its gear at the Palamino Club anymore; Saturday, February 7 will see the band take over the 1600-seat Burton Cummings Theatre and be welcomed home by fans both old and new.

Calgary-based solo artist Jake Matthews and Winnipegs Alana Levandoski open the show, tickets to which are $23.50 at Ticketmaster. For more information, check out Doc Walkers Web site.
