Throw Another Manitoban On The Barbie
Nathan, the Wailin’ Jennys, the Duhks and House of Doc are down in Austin, TX, representing Manitoba at the 2004 South by Southwest music conference and festival. The Wailin’ Jennys and House of Doc will be joined by BC’s Oh Susanna at the Canadian BBQ and Shindig March 19, and Nathan will get in on the action later in the evening at the Roots, Boots and Toques party. Everything kicks off March 18 with a showcase from Juno-nominated quintet the Duhks.
The Manitoba BBQ held every year at Toronto’s North by Northeast music conference and festival is renowned as an “it” party – full of great music, fabulous food and plenty of networking opportunities to get tangled in. Seven years ago organizers launched a similar party in Austin at SXSW (NXNE’s sister conference) and the success of the Canadian BBQ and Shindig gets bigger every year.
