The Canadian Country Music Awards confirmed that Paul Brandt will take to the stage in Regina, SK and lead the CCMA Awards celebration September 10 at Brandt Centre. Brandt, a Gemini winner for his role as host of the show, will once again be at the helm for a night that recognizes extraordinary achievement for Canada’s country music artists over the past year.

Brandt returns after a one-year break to say he’s pleased to be back as host, and adds “…Regina is one of my favorite cities and the reception from Country fans there has always been over the top...but really, you didn't have to name the arena after me guys, that's taking hospitality just a bit too far!” He also promised fans the September event would be “…an incredible party!"

With the release of nominees August 1, performers are now being announced for the awards broadcast. Today’s release confirmed country star George Canyon, a five-time nominee in major categories, and rising star Shane Yellowbird, also a five-time nominee in major categories, are each slated for a performance. Hot country group Emerson Drive is onboard, and there will also be a special performance from the host of the 2007 show, Paul Brandt. More names will be released over the weeks leading up to the September 10 broadcast on CBC Television.

The CCMA Awards show is one of Canada’s only music award shows to be seen at home on two networks, plus in the U.S. and in Australia. The show will air live at 8pm ET (9pm AST and 9:30 NF) on CBC TV, with encore airings on CMT Canada. The broadcast will also be carried in the U.S. on television network Great American Country (GAC) and in Australia on CMC (Country Music Channel).

For the second year in a row the CCMA thanks country fans for their support and delivers exclusive access to floor seating to the fans. Tickets can be purchased at http://www.ticketmaster.ca or by calling toll free to 1-800-970-7328 or 306-543-7800.
