Music Fest Overflows with Manitoba Music

If you head out past Steinbach August 24-26, you'll run right smack into a bunch of Manitoba music.

The third annual music and art festival Shine Thru Rain is taking over the prairies with 32 diverse, locally-based acts that range from indie pop to experimental funk. Music fans can catch recognizable names like The Paperbacks, DJ RPG, and The Nods alongside some of Manitoba's best up-and-coming bands.

This year's artists include: Benjfunk, Serena Postel, Vanessa Kuzina, Jesse Matas, Pierre Freynet, J.R. Hill, The Afterparty, Lukeman/Fuller/Pratt Trio, The Honeybuckets, Little Black Dress, Sortie Real, Real Good Cooks, Sons Of York, None The Wiser, Marc Gomez, Pink Flamingos, The Wicked Afternoons, Kram Ran, Lint, Patrick Alexandre, The F-Holes, Ahnabith Gish, DJ RPG, Fire Pyxies, The Nods, The Paperbacks, David Barchyn, Mas Headspace, The Fo!ps, J. Williamez,
The Upsides, Johnny Riverboat, Mahogany Frog, DJ Turtle, Krishna, Poor Tree,
