Six-Episode Concert Series Hits the WECC

Last week we brought you news of the second televised season of the Artist Next Door series. This week, it's another music series that's getting ready to hit the silver screen.

Low Budget Productions in association with Absurd Machine Films and MTS TV, TV On Demand will be showcasing Manitoba talent with a six-episode HD concert series live from the newly renovated West End Cultural Centre

The series grew out of a special televised concert two years ago, which was broadcast on Shaw TV, featuring a pairing of D.Rangers and Moses Mayes. The new series, which moves to MTS TV On Demand, will feature two bands per night over three free public concerts, June 15-17.

"There has not been a concert series that focuses on Manitoba talent since the days of 10 O'clock Live and it's follow up show 10:30 Live. I remember watching these shows when I was too young to go to the bars," says producer Johnny Marlow. "It gave me a chance to see bands in their element. I also got to see bands I might never have thought to check out."

The first night will play host to new country crooner Bryce Pallister and  singer/songwriter Cat Jahnke. The next night, you can catch acoustic pop troubadour J.P. Hoe with Francophone singer/songwriter and percussionist extraordinaire Daniel ROA. The West End will crank up its amps for the last night with pop/rock act The Telepathic Butterflies and blues/funk rock outfit Dr. Rage & The Uppercuts.

Live at the West End should hit your TVs in the fall, although no firm date has been set.
