Not just for the hippies... It's time for the Winnipeg Folk Festival.

While Wab Kinew is out enjoying the Winnipeg Folk Festival this weekend, guest host Bridget Forbes takes over the studio to talk about the beloved fest. Tune in for festival memories, a chat with long-time fest volunteer Karen Dana (32 years is pretty good, no?), and returning festival performer Fred Penner talks about how he got pigeon-holed as a kids' musician.

There will be music from Juno-nominees The Duhks, prodigy band the Abrams Brothers, local country man Andrew Neville paying tribute to Willie P. Bennett, and soul singin' swear-he-sounds-like-Sam-Cooke performer, John Boutte.

Listen to:
The (204) with Wabanakwut Kinew
Saturdays 5-6 p.m. on CBC Radio 1
