Local Roots Acts Head to Ottawa for OCFF
Nine Manitoba roots acts are travelling east to showcase at the influential Ontario Council of Folk Festivals Conference in Ottawa. OCFF will host a strong line-up of Manitoba acts at its 23rd annual conference, which runs October 15-18.
Manitoba Music has organized showcasing opportunities for the Manitoba acts to present themselves both on stage and off to some of this country’s most influential members of the national folk, traditional, and roots music scene. The annual conference features four days of performances, workshops, special events, and panel discussions. OCFF is an essential experience for more than 700 attendees, including artistic directors, presenters, and provincial, national, and international industry organizations.
Manitoba Music will once again host its annual “Manitoba at OCFF” showcase featuring all of this year’s hometown artists on October 16 and October 17. This year’s performers include family fiddle quintet The Gaudry Boys, children’s music act Mr Mark, and singer/songwriters Keri Latimer (Nathan), Matt Epp, JP Hoe, JD Edwards, Karla Adolphe (Jacob and Lily), Keith Dyck, and Heather Bishop. Bishop also has an official OCFF showcase on October 17. Artists will also have the chance to take part in a trade show, networking with top festival and talent buyers, recording labels, managers, and more.
