Manitoba Artists Get Into the Holiday Spirit

Now that there's finally some snow flying around, the ubiquitous holiday tunes make a bit more sense. If you'd enjoy those happy winter favourites performed by some talented Manitoba artists, HOT 103 can help you with that.

The radio station has released HOT 103 presents The 12 Days of Winnipeg Christmas, an 18-track CD featuring both original tunes and classic Christmas songs peformed by local artists. The list includes Paper Moon, Keith and Renee, The Details, The Shouting Ground, J.P. Hoe, Don Amero & Jason Gordon, Quinzy, Jodi King, Jaylene Johnson, as well as some guest appearances by Sierra Noble and Troy Westwood. HOT 103 will be selling the CD at One Big Day for Christmas at the Safeway on Ness Avenue by Polo Park in Madison Square for just $10, in support of the Christmas Cheer Board and the Winnipeg Humane Society. After that, the CD will be available at HOT 103 Studios.

You can hear a sprinkling of tracks from HOT 103's compilation streaming in the Manitoba Music Radio. We'll be adding more holiday tunes throughout the month, so stay tuned. Santa will also be in charge of The Loudspeaker offering up a new sonic Christmas cookie every Thursday in December. Oldfolks Home kicks things on December 3 with part one of their four-part Christmas song series, "We Won't Cry At Christmas Time."

Singer/songwriter Jodi King has organized her second benefit concert in support of Siloam Mission, with a little help from Enjoy Your Pumas, Beatles cover band Billy Shears, and host Ace Burpee of HOT 103.
