Manitoba Music is gearing up for exciting winter season of professional development workshops for the music industry. Hosted in the Manitoba Music Resource Centre, MusicWorks presents experienced music industry veterans, hot new trend setters, and tastemakers speaking on the most important topics for today’s artists and music industry entrepreneurs.
This season, MusicWorks will focus on timely topics like music conference preparation, effective live performance, publicity and release planning, breaking into the UK market, tax preparation, and more. The series brings to Winnipeg some of the most influential music professionals from across Canada and beyond, including: CBC Radio 3 host Grant Lawrence, Andres Mendoza from Cuto Marketing, Six Shooter Records’ Helen Britton and Emily Smart, and Bobby Kimberley from The Musebox.
Manitoba Music will also welcome acclaimed singer/songwriter David Francey as the latest instructor in its Songwriter in Residence program. Since its launch in 2006, the program has offered local songwriters the opportunity to connect with and learn from a number of celebrated songwriters, including Tom Wilson, Hawksley Workman, Emm Gryner, Buffy Sainte-Marie, James Keelaghan, and Stephen Fearing.
All workshops take place in the Manitoba Music Industry Resource Centre, 1-376 Donald Street, unless otherwise listed. Space is limited and advance registration is strongly encouraged.
