The Undercurrents compilation CD is an eclectic collection of young and talented artists from Manitoba. Ranging from hard rock to folk, the CD features unsigned artists such as Subcity, Blame The Television, Mason Weselowski, and Ingrid Gatin. Each artist apart of the CD represents the wide variety of music available from the up and coming music scene in Manitoba. On this compilation you will find some of the most innovative new music that is currently being written by young Manitoba musicians. 

The Undercurrents compilation CD will be released at a multidisciplinary youth art show, The Up & Coming Showcase, which will be held at the West End Cultural Centre on May 18 at 7pm. The show will feature two of the artists on the CD: Mason Weselowski and Carly Dow. Tickets are $7 in advance or at the door. Advance tickets are available at the WECC. 

This compilation CD was a project, put together by a number of students, with the hopes of promoting independent local music. Each student involved in this project has a great interest of having a career in music, and throughout the program has learned about the different sides of the industry through a number of workshops and guest speakers. The students compiled, organized and promoted this recording of various Manitoba artists.
