Chic Gamine Lands on Late Night U.S. Variety Show

Posted on

If you turn on the television on June 13, you might just see some familiar faces. Juno Award-winning vocal quintet Chic Gamine will be on syndicated U.S. network show Lopez Tonight. The band will be providing backing vocals for Lousianna-based singer/songwriter Marc Broussard. They'll also be joining his U.S. album release tour, as openers and backing vocalists, with stops in New York City, Las Vegas, Austin, Los Angeles, and beyond.

Chic Gamine met Broussard in 2008 at California's Strawberry Festival, when he invited them on stage after catching their set.

"It's going to be an exciting day," Chic Gamine's Andrina Turenne said via email from Los Angeles. "We leave in about an hour to head down to the studio.  We've never been a part of anything like this. Being on set, being backstage, rehearsing, it's all exciting to us. We get to meet up with Marc and his band today as well and we're looking forward to hanging out with those guys again. We have similar humor so it's like one non-stop laughfest."

Local audiences can make the trip across the Ontario border to catch Chic Gamine at the Trout Forest Music Festival or catch them in Kelwood, Manitoba for Harvest Sun Music Festival in August.

Tune into the late night variety show at 11 p.m. on TLN to see Chic Gamine.
