Hot on the heals of some great music events at the Gimli Film Festival, a long weekend of cultural activities, food, and music is hitting the shores of Gimli. The 122nd Icelandic Festival of Manitoba, which runs  from July 29 to August 1, features four full days of activities with no shortage of live entertainment, including some great musical talent from Manitoba.

High energy rock act Inward Eye kicks things off at the Lakeview Resort Harbour Stage on July 29 for the Friday Night Islendingrock show, along with reggae/rock outfit The Noble Thiefs, who will pass the torch to electro-rockers Goldenboy.

The following night, audiences can take in a night of indie rock and pop at the Piere courtesy of buzzed-about trio This Hisses, pop outfit  Royal Canoe, WCMA-nominated pop/rock band The Liptonians, and Doug McLean's (The Paperbacks) new project, Yoyote.

You can also catch Music on the Rooftop of the Waterfront Centre on July 30, with performances by Gilles Fournier, Will Bonness, Richard Gillis, Peter Frejek, and many more.

Islendingadagurinn’s Alternative Folk Festival offers an impressive lineup of music from 6:30pm until midnight on July 31. The event includes sets by eclectic singer/songwriter Ingrid Gatin, Juno-winning roots quartet Nathan, and WCMA award winner Romi Mayes, and more.
