Showcase Opportunity: Manitoba Music A&R Showcase in Winnipeg, Oct 29 | Deadline: Sep 30

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 4pm CST Friday, September 30, 2011

Manitoba Music will be presenting a showcase for guest speakers from our upcoming Understanding A&R: Demo Listening Derby panel, to be held at Manitoba Music on October 29. The panel features Ken Beattie (Killbeat Music), Chad Richardson (ole Music Publishing), Jen Rogers (Six Shooter Records), and Holger Peterson (Stony Plain Records). This showcase event offers Manitoba acts a unique opportunity to perform for and network with influential music industry professionals from outside of Manitoba.

We welcome submissions from artists of all genres. Preference will be given to artists who perform music appropriate for the visiting speakers. Before submitting, we encouraged applicants to research the speakers’ companies and their rosters

To be considered for a showcase, you must:
•    Have a current release (demo / EP / full-length)
•    Be available to perform on the evening of October 29, 2011
•    Be a Manitoba Music member

Submit by email to showcases@manitobamusic.com the following:
•    “Manitoba Music A&R Showcase” in the subject line
•    A link to your manitobamusic.com profile page (ensure your profile is updated with current music and artist bio)
•    A rationale for how this showcase fits your development plan (approximately 250 words)
•    Description of current team
•    Current high resolution (300 dpi) image or link to where one can be downloaded

Submissions will be evaluated based on:
•    Music
•    Track record
•    Strength of team
•    Export readiness
•    Rationale for the showcase
