CEOs Sleep Out: Raising Funds and Awarness for Homeless Employment Programs

Posted on

On September 29, nearly 40 local CEOs will be participating in a Downtown Sleepout to raise funds and awareness for the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ’s Change for the Better, which supports homeless employment programs.

The CEOs and community leaders represent a wide range of sectors, including music, arts, and culture. Film industry maven and CEO of Manitoba Film & Music, Carole Vivier will be among the sleepout participants, as well as Festival du Voyageur executive director Ginette Lavack Walters, Guppy Design CEO Bill Crossman, and NCI's David McLeod. They'll be joined by many other high-profile Winnipeggers for this inaugural event.

"It's crucial that people from all sectors rally around this cause," says Carole Vivier. "We are all working toward building a great city, and the fight against poverty is key in creating a vibrant, healthy Winnipeg."

Taking place at Portage and Main, the presentations for media and public and the sleepout are scheduled for the evening of September 29 with a fundraising breakfast on September 30. Each participant has been working to rally support from the community and colleagues to pledge donations towards the goal of $100,000. For more information, please visit: changeforthebetter.org.
