A new summer festival celebrates music and the sizzling delights of the outdoor grill. The inaugural Winnipeg BBQ and Blues Festival will take place August 17-19 at the Red River Exhibition Park. The three day event boasts a hot line up of acts including Romi Mayes, Big Dave McLean, The Perpetrators, the Sojourners, Steve Dawson, Jim Byrnes, Little Miss Higgins, and headliner blues legend Jimmie Vaughan and the Tilt a Whirl Band.

Along with 20 bands and three stages, the festival presents a Winnipeg Harvest “Meat Ball” fundraiser, the House of Chrome big rig show and shine, a hamburger-making competition and the Winnipeg Free Press Pit Masters Competition, a Kansas City Barbecue Society Sanctioned event featuring North American teams grilling food to perfection.

Early bird tickets go on sale on Thursday at Ticketmaster. More artists will be announced in the coming months. Find out more at Winnipeg BBQ and Blues Festival.
