Now Taking Submissions for Manitoba Music events at Reeperbahn Festival, Germany

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 4pm, Thursday, May 24, 2012

Manitoba Music, in partnership with CIMA is presenting a showcase of Manitoba artists at the Canadian Blast at the Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg, Germany, September 20-22, 2012. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase for European and international music industry. Germany is an important market for Canadian artists touring and releasing records in Europe and the Reeperbahn Festival is emerging as one of the most exciting festivals and conferences in the region. Manitoba Music will work directly with each selected artist to identify members of the industry they are interested in inviting.

The showcase will be a daytime event aimed at industry professionals. The showcase takes place as part of the Reeperbahn Campus, which participating artists and artist managers would be encouraged to attend. The deadline to apply for the official festival is June 30 via SonicBids.

To be considered for this opportunity, you must:

  • Have a current or upcoming release (demo / EP / full-length)
  • Be export-ready (prepared to capitalize on international opportunities)
  • Have financial capacity to undertake travel and accommodations (Market Access Program Support is available but will not cover full costs)
  • Be a Manitoba Music member

  • “Reeperbahn” in the subject line
  • A link to your manitobamusic.com profile page (ensure updated current music, bio, etc)
  • A rationale for how this showcase fits your international development plan
  • Description of current team and which team members will attend the event
  • Current high resolution image (300 dpi) or link to where one can be downloaded

Submissions will be evaluated based on:

  • Music
  • Track record
  • Strength of team
  • Export readiness
  • Rationale for the showcase
