Killbeat Music's Ken Beattie will in town for our Media Blast: Indie Radio & Press Campaigns workshop on Saturday, November 24.

Ken is the founder and national publicity director of Killbeat Music (Dan Mangan, Yukon Blonde, The Deep Dark Woods). Working in just about every genre, Killbeat is an award-winning national media company that has launched over 400 albums by over 200 different artists in the last eight years from every corner of Canada and in between, as well as the U.S. and Europe. Killbeat has a team of three experienced media savvy music lovers that work in print, radio, visual, and online/digital media outlets to create a well-rounded and symbiotic publicity strategy. Killbeat has seen more than six dozen albums reach #1 in the last five years on the national college/campus charts -- including the # 1 albums of the year in 2007, 2009, and 2010 -- and five of the year end top 10 on the national Folk/Roots Chart in 2010. The CBC Radio 3 Chart is almost never without three or four Killbeat albums in its top 30 and one or two in the top 10, and almost all of Killbeat's releases receive national radio features or airplay at some point.
