Three Franco-Manitoban children's acts are set to have lots of laughs in Montreal this month. Madame Diva, marijo, and Marie-Claude -- playfully dubbed "Les 3M" will join forces for performances at the massive Festival Juste Pour Rire, running at noon July 24-27 at Place de la famille.
Marie-Claude, perhaps best known for her time with acclaimed world music outfit Marigaia, recently released her debut children's album, Mon coffret à surprises, which landed a Western Canadian Music Award (WCMA) nomination for Children’s Recording of the Year.
Marijo, also known for her WCMA-nominated world/jazz-tinged pop act marijosée, recently released her own kid's album, Quand il pleut... il mouille en masse!
Madame Diva, a WCMA nominee in 2010, is amidst a busy summer tour schedule. Her debut singer/songwriter album Petits Papiers, under her own name Jocelyne Baribeau, is up for Francophone Recording of the Year at this year's WCMAs.
