Manitoba Heads to Hamburg for Reeperbahn Festival
Sprechen Sie Manitoban? Three homegrown acts are joining with some prairie cohorts for a showacse in one of Europe’s biggest music markets: Germany. Acclaimed local indie acts Les Jupes, Mise en Scene, and Federal Lights will be hitting Hamburg on September 28 for showcase during the Reeperbahn Festival, which typically attracts over 1,500 music industry professionals and media from 24 countries and attracts 17,000 visitors.
Building on the success of Manitoba Music’s two past trips to the German market and successful export marketing events in France and the UK, the showcase is part of a trade mission that will continue the focus on high-level networking and business development opportunities for Manitoba and western Canadian companies and showcases for artists.
The showcase, which takes place at Canada House (Horsaal), is the latest in a series of partnered events with SaskMusic and Alberta Music under the BreakOut West banner. The lineup boasts eight acts in total, including the Manitoba bands plus The Sheepdogs, Rah Rah, Shout Out Out Out Out, Travis Bretzer, and The Provincial Archive.
