Hé ho! Festival du Voyageur Announces Lineup for 45th Annual Celebration

With the sweet strains of the fiddle and a loud "hé ho", Festival du Voyageur announced the programming for 2014. Now celebrating its 45th year, Manitoba's premier winter festival has built a reputation for booking diverse acts covering just about every genre imaginable, from traditional tunes to country to indie rock to roots. 

Beyond the beard growing and the warmth of caribou, the February institution is a busy music festival, offering music fans a celebration of Franco-Manitoban culture with music taking centre stage. The 10-day event, which kicks off on Valentine's Day, boasts over 100 musical acts, including plenty of homegrown talent. 

This year's impressive list of artists includes some of the hottest local names in both French and English, including Royal CanoeOh My Darling, Jocelyne Baribeau, Don Amero, marijosée, Sierra NobleÇa Claque!Claire Morrison, Red Moon Road, Crooked Brothers, Patti Lamoureux, The F-Holes, Sweet Alibi, TiBert le Voyageur, Justin LacroixBoats, Daniel ROA, Indian City, and many (many, many) more. Manitoba Music will also hold an event in conjunction with Festival this year. The first edition of Rame à la rencontre will include two showcases of Francophone artists from Western Canada as well as some industry panels. Stay tuned to manitobamusic.com/francophone for details.
