Manitoba Artists Pick Up Hardware at Canadian Folk Music Awards

Manitobans claimed hardware at the 10th annual Canadian Folk Music Award nods this weekend. The awards were handed out on November 29 at a bilingual gala  at Ottawa's Bronson Centre. 

Polaris-winning throat singer and composer Tanya Tagaq earned the Pushing the Boundaries award for her groundbreaking album on Six Shooter Records, Animism

Country blues outfit The Bros. Landreth picked up New/Emerging Artist of the Year for its acclaimed debut, Let It Lie.

Legendary children's entertainer and singer/songwriter Fred Penner won Children's album of the Year for his latest, Where In The World
