Manitoba Music is a not-for-profit music industry association with an office located in Winnipeg. We are currently looking for someone to join our team in the position of Industry Development Manager. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Industry Development Manager oversees the delivery of our industry development programs including professional development, industry development, and market development initiatives. This a full-time position with a term ending March 31, 2016. Travel and attendance at local, national, and international industry events is required.
As Industry Development Manager, you will work with our industry members and funders to understand the goals and objectives of our programs and how they contribute to the development the music industry in Manitoba. You will translate those objectives into the day-to-day management of our industry development programs, including the management of program budgets and resources, and supervising program staff. You will facilitate showcasing and business development at events around the world and be a champion for Manitoba artists and companies in all genres and all levels of development. You will participate in the evaluation of the effectiveness of the programs and the reporting of results to funders and stakeholders.
In an Industry Development Manager, we need an excellent project manager and event producer who can manage the timelines, budgets, and scope of a project to deliver high quality results. We need someone who understands artist development and the careers of independent artists and music companies. Financial management expertise should include experience with government funding and/or corporate sponsorship and experience in program design, implementation, and evaluation is an asset. The position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills including effectively relating to public, industry, and government, and excellent computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office.
