Farewell Roland Deschambault

Posted on

A bittersweet announcement… Roland Deschambault will be leaving Manitoba Music at the end of this month to take on BreakOut West’s conference manager role.

Roland joined our team in 2010 to coordinate our professional development activities. Over the years, he has helmed our workshops, panels, songwriter retreats, resource centre, and more. Roland launched the popular January Music Meeting and intensive DIY Series, which have had an important role in fostering many careers.

He has personally met with hundreds of people in our music community to listen, teach, share, challenge, and support. Roland has been the guy on the other end of the couch, email, or phone line, answering questions about royalties, co-writing, funding, releasing, touring, and so much more. Roland has connected with and supported so many during his time at Manitoba Music, building profound and creative relationships that have helped many take their work in music to the next level.

Roland has been an important member of our team and his dedication, enthusiasm, perspective, and genuine caring will be greatly missed.

We wish Roland the very best in his new position and we look forward to working with him in his BreakOut West role and seeing all the great work he’s going to do.
