The envelopes were opened, the names were read, and artists from Manitoba are heading home with JUNOS. The hardware was handed out at the 2018 JUNO Gala Dinner & Awards, which took place in Vancouver on March 24.

Music legend Fred Penner adds to his list of accolades with this year's Children’s Album of the Year award for his latest recording, Hear the Music. This marks Penner’s fourth JUNO Award in his storied career, including a win for his last release in 2015.

Pop outfit The Color has earned its first JUNO for Contemporary Christian/Gospel Album for it latest release, First Day of My Life. The hard-touring, Winkler-based band recently won four Covenant Awards.

Homegrown acts were up for several awards this year, including nods for Indian City, Big Dave McLean, Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, expat James Ehnes, and Manitoba-raised, Hamilton-based Iskwé.
