Call for Submissions: The Forks Buskers Program 2018-19 | Deadline: May 7

APPLICATION DEADLINE: May 7, 2018.

Every opportunity to play for an audience is a chance for artists to hone their craft, from open mics and busking, to festivals and club shows. This year we’ve teamed up with The Forks to bring more performance opportunities to Manitoban artists with the Buskers Program.

The Forks is a staple for live music events in Manitoba, and with the Buskers Program, artists can play at the historic site for a range of audiences. Busk Stops started at The Forks in 1992, and since then rising stars like The Treble, Dust Rhinos, and even Justin Bieber have taken part.

Artists accepted into the program can expect to perform in and around The Forks Market for audiences of all kinds. Busking is a great way to develop the skills needed to execute a captivating performance for an audience that is constantly moving. Busking at The Forks means playing for Manitobans and visitors from abroad, creating a unique opportunity to reach new fans and explore new ways to play in public.
