Andrea Davis will be leaving Manitoba Music for a new position with Mighty Cypress Talent at the end of February.

Andrea started with us in 2015 at the front desk, taking on more and more over the years, including our member services and administration, producing our ongoing New Music Night and Open Mic series, launching Snack Sessions, our live streaming video series, and helming the annual Manitoba Music Rocks Charity Bonspiel and many of our outreach activities.

Andrea has been an invaluable and integral member of our team. Andrea has welcomed our new members into the association, helping to connect them with the services they need to keep their careers moving forward. She has booked over 150 local acts on various stages across Winnipeg. She has helped to raise thousands of dollars for the Kevin Walters Memorial Fund. Her warmth, thoughtfulness, team spirit, creativity, and passion will be greatly missed. She’s been a smiling face, a steadfast champion, and a curious coworker who is the first to offer help.

We wish Andrea the very best in all she does!

We’re excited to announce that Claire Boning will be moving into a new position as membership and events coordinator in coming weeks. She’ll be taking on new duties, including working with members and running logistics on many of Manitoba Music’s events, including market development showcases, New Music Night, Canada Day at The Forks, and more. She’ll also be a familiar face on several export activities. Claire’s been a key part of the team for over two years and this move is a natural fit, building on her strong skills as an event producer and creative administrator. As of March 4, you can reach her at claire@manitobamusic.com, 204.975.4218.

We’re also excited to welcome Ashley Bieniarz as our new administrative assistant. Ashley spent some time with us as a summer student and we’re happy to now have her as part of the team full time.

Ashley has been involved in the local music scene since 2015 as an avant-pop artist. While completing her Bachelor of Music in classical piano at the University of Manitoba, she created and continues to host the campus radio show and podcast the Winnipeg Music Project. Through Creative Manitoba’s Youth Mentorship Program, Ashley interned at BreakOut West in 2016 and is currently working with local singer/songwriter Jaylene Johnson. She has also been a volunteer with Manitoba Music for the past couple years.

Ashley will be helping maintain our admin services, live music listings, and more. You’ll find her at the front desk during regular office hours and can reach her at ashley@manitobamusic.com, 204.942.8650 as of February 28
