Manitoba Acts Earn Canadian Folk Music Award Nods

Three acclaimed Manitoba artists have landed nominations for this year's Canadian Folk Music Awards

Powerhouse roots duo The Small Glories, aka Cara Luft and JD Edwards, have picked up four nominations for their second recording, Assiniboine & The Red, for Contemporary Album of the Year, Vocal Group of the Year, Ensemble of the Year, and English Songwriters of the Year (with co-writers Neil Osborne and Catherine MacLellan)

Dark roots outfit Leaf Rapids landed a not for Contemporary Album of the Year for their latest album, Citizen Alien.

Singer/songwriter Madeleine Roger earned a not for English Songwriter of the Year for her solo debut, Cottonwod.

The 15th edition of the CFMAs will take place April 3-4 2020, in Charlottetown at the PEI Convention Centre at two Awards Weekend Concerts. 

Founded in 2005, the CFMAs recognize Canada’s outstanding writers, producers and performers of folk music, and the artists who are expanding the genre in innovative and exciting ways. Check our all this year's CFMA nominations at folkawards.ca.
