Current Festival Puts Local Music Centre Stage at The Forks

The Current Festival, one of Winnipeg's newest summer music festivals, is putting local music centre stage next month at The Forks' CN Stage.
Running August 12 - 14, the inaugural fest brings together live music, local food and drink, activities, and design for an experiential 18+ event that they've dubbed "unapologetically extra".
The lineup boasts a host of genre-spanning local faves, including high energy pop/rockers Attica Riots, indie pop powerhouse Begonia, singer/songwriter Cassidy Mann, funk/jazz collective Dirty Catfish Brass Band, pop singer/songwriter Field Guide, Anishinaabe and settler folk-soul musician Ila Barker, artist / creator / communicator iskwē (formerly based in Manitoba), rock outfit Jivetown, bilingual singer/songwriter Kelly Bado, Anishinaabe MC/Singer/Songwriter Leonard Sumner, garage rockers Mise en Scene, indie pop experimenters Royal Canoe, singer/songwriter / multi-instrumentalist / producer Sierra Noble, jazzy hip hop collective Super Duty Tough Work, the harmony-heavy roots of The Bros. Landreth, and acclaimed singer/songwriter William Prince. They'll be joined by Anthony OKS and Zuki who'll be on deck for tweener DJ sets.
