Manitoba Music at The Market Returns to The Forks Next Month
Round 2 of the Weekly Pop-up Concert Series Features Nine Stellar Local Artists Thursday in March
Manitoba Music is bringing live music back to The Forks this March with a new round of Manitoba Music at The Market! Celebrating the talent and resilience of music communities in Manitoba, the free series of Thursday night pop-up concerts at the EQ3 Lounge and Room 201 features another lineup of phenomenal local artists.
Kicking off March 2, the series is an opportunity to welcome music fans and market visitors alike to one of the city’s favourite meeting spots to experience live local music at its best. Made possible in part by the Government of Canada and running in partnership with Real Love Winnipeg, each show features artists sharing their original music in an intimate setting.
Performers include Congolese-born singer/songwriter and music producer Adiyo, electronic jazz/R&B outfit Bluebloods, R&B/soul artist Keisha Booker, solo set from country outlier Boy Golden, husband-and-wife folk duo Burnstick, pop singer/songwriter Cassidy Mann, the powerhouse indie/pop of FONTINE, blind music producer and recording artist Mattmac, and acoustic chamber folk act Raine Hamilton.
“Live music is a powerful part of our prairie culture, and the music scene in Manitoba has never been more exciting,” says Manitoba Music’s executive director, Sean McManus. “The Forks is a natural gathering place and injecting these pop-up performances into that environment is a blast. We can’t wait to be back at The Market celebrating the talent and resilience of local artists again this March.”

La deuxième partie de la série de concerts éphémères hebdomadaires présentera neuf artistes locaux extraordinaires les jeudis au mois de mars
Manitoba Music amènera à nouveau de la musique live à La Fourche au mois de mars avec une nouvelle édition de Manitoba Music at The Market ! Célébrant le talent et la résilience des communautés musicales du Manitoba, la série gratuite de concerts éphémères les jeudis soir présentera dans le Salon EQ3 et la Salle 201 une nouvelle gamme extraordinaire de personnalités locales.
Débutant le 2 mars, la série est une occasion d’accueillir les amateurs de musique et les visiteurs du marché dans l’un des lieux de rencontre préférés de la ville pour découvrir le meilleur de la musique live locale. Rendu possible en partie grâce au gouvernement du Canada et mené en association avec Real Love Winnipeg, chaque concert mettra en vedette des artistes qui partageront leur musique originale dans un cadre intime.
Les artistes incluent l’auteure-compositrice-interprète et productrice d’origine congolaise Adiyo, le groupe de jazz/R&B électronique Bluebloods, l’artiste R&B/soul Keisha Booker, l’unique chanteur country solo Boy Golden, le couple marié folk Burnstick, l’auteure-compositrice-interprète pop Cassidy Mann, FONTINE et sa musique indie/pop extraordinaire, l’artiste et producteur de musique aveugle Mattmac et le groupe de musique folk de chambre acoustique Raine Hamilton.
« La musique live est un élément puissant de notre culture des Prairies, et la scène musicale du Manitoba n’a jamais été aussi excitante », dit le directeur général chez Manitoba Music, Sean McManus. « La Fourche est un lieu de rassemblement naturel et injecter ces spectacles éphémères dans un tel environnement est génial. Nous avons hâte d’être de retour à La Fourche ce mois de mars pour célébrer à nouveau le talent et la résilience des artistes locaux. »
