Showcase Opportunity: Sounds Waves Music Meeting Showcase

Sound Waves Music Meetings (SWMM) returns this fall for a new edition of the artist-focused meetup, September 14-16, 2023! Manitoba Music will showcase live local music for SWMM industry guests and audiences during this year’s programming, offering an opportunity for participants to build their business connections and participate in mentor meetings and industry sessions. All genres are welcome. This showcase will have a strong focus on gender diversity and IBPOC and LGBTQ2S+ voices.

To be considered for this opportunity, you must:

  • Have a current or upcoming release (single / EP / full-length)
  • Be a Manitoba Music member and a current resident of Manitoba
  • Be able to perform in the evening of September 14, 15, or 16 (exact date TBC) in Winnipeg
  • Participate in SWMM programming during the daytime on September 14, 15, and 16
  • Be 18 years of age or older (applies to all band members)
  • Participate in the promotion of your participation in the showcase on social media
  • Update your Manitoba Music profile with current music, links, promotional pictures, bio, etc.

Submissions will be evaluated by a selection committee based on:

  • Music
  • Rationale for the showcase
  • Track record
  • Social media presence
  • Momentum demonstrated in your bio and recent accomplishments in existing or other projects
