The cold weather is here and what better way to keep warm this month season than with lots of live music! Winterruption returns January 23 - 28 with over a dozen shows and 30+ performers in various Winnipeg venues, including, The Good Will Social Club and West End Cultural Centre plus the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, Bulldog Event Centre, and Times Change(d) High & Lonesome Club.
Presented by the WECC and Real Love Winnipeg, the series is an effort by some of the city's best music venues to give music fans a great reason to leave their houses in the dead of winter.
The stellar lineup of homegrown talent hitting stages during this year’s fest includes Amos the Kid, Bicycle Face, Bloc Parents, Darryl Buck, El Leon and The Strangers, Field Guide, Fold Paper, FONTINE, French Class, Julien's Daughter, Rayannah, Show Pony, and more.
sākihiwē festival and the WECC are working together to present the 2nd Annual Round Dance hosted by Joel Wood and Tonia Jo Hall along with Darryl Buck. The free event, which welcomes families and includes a pipe ceremony and feast, takes place at the CMHR on January 27.
Synonym Sound is also getting in on the Wintertuption fun with a series of events at The Forks including Inidngeous DJ collective Nimi’idiwin at Passerby, soul and R&B event Soul Supreme in Room 201 with Kiesha Booker and Snackie and Zuki and NYOH, and MA.BWE and friends including Jana Jacobs in an outdoor show at The Canopy.
