Paulo Borges

About

Paulo Borges has been making and teaching music for over 40 years. His influences are wide ranging: Portuguese Folk, Brazilian, Jazz, Rock and American Folk, to name a few. A bass player by trade (Jazz Studies @ ST. FX), Paulo has come to play and compose primarily on the guitar and piano.

Having sung in various choirs throughout school (including a chamber choir at St. FX), Paulo found his true voice as the lead vocalist for local Brazilian Jazz combo Bossa Norte (mid 90s), enjoying a string of successes culminating in several appearances at Winnipeg's Pan Am games in '99. This experience inspired him to finally bring his writing to the forefront of his musical endeavours.

When not busy teaching, Paulo loves creating music in his studio and on the stage. He has released two full-length CDs as well as several digital EPs.
