The Seasons album continues to bring wonderful times of worship for Barbara Joy and her band. They have just finished an incredible time of worship at the Plum Coulee Plum Fest in Southern Manitoba and are heading for Fun with Family Days at Portage on the September long weekend to lead worship again.  The songs My Freedom, Joy In All Seasons and The Garden from the new album bring a time of worship and encouragement in the lives of the band members and those attending the events and singing along with the band.   Heaven from the God's Wonder album is also always enjoyed in worship as Joy and her band sing of the wonderful place prepared for each one of us.  Be encouraged!

A few more highlights that have occurred  with the release of the album were letters that arrived via airmail from The Queen's Lady-In-Waiting and from the office of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge thanking Barbara for the card and the Seasons CD that was sent to each of them.  What a delight to share the word of God and it always amazes Joy where the Lord will send His Word.  Joy also had the privilege of sharing the album music at Oak Bluff Bible Church in June 2022,  Fun With Family Day in Portage on the September longweek 2022 and now getting ready for a worship and CD Release evening at the Oak Bluff Bible Church.

The new album Seasons is here!  Barbara and the group are so excited!  Producer Jordan Jackiew has done a fabulous job again. Roberta Landreth has done the artwork , layout and design. 

Guest artists are Sharalee Smith, Rosemary Siemens, Corinne Thiessen, Connie Rei and Dave Miller, plus Eli Bennett was part of the recording/engineering process for Stille Nacht, Silent Night ( The Angels Sang).

Cowrites consist of Sharalee Smith, Allison Lynn and Gerald Flemming.  Sharalee and Barbara shared the mic on several vocal collaborations  on this spectacular album blending spring, summer, fall and winter in one collection.   

Physical copies have an extraordinary combination of summer/winter photographs , photo credits Sandra Murner Photography and Masterpiece Photography - Mel Muir.  Physical copies are now available for sale as well as being available on Spotify and Apple Music as of June 17, 2022.  More details to come!

Happy New Year! Barbara's new release Winnipeg Winter is here.  The year is off to a fabulous start and its a real winter here in Manitoba. We have lots and lots of white snow and this is the perfect winter to release Winnipeg Winter, very appropriate.  Winnipeg Winter is written and arranged by Barbara Joy and Jordan Jackiew for Tailored Recordings has again done the engineering and production with Connie Rei on backup vocals. The orchestration and instrumental accompaniment is performed by Jordan Jackiew and Barbara brings  a sweet sounding melody line with Connie performing harmonies.

Barbara's new Christmas single is here!  Joy to the World ( Great Joy) written by Isaac Watts, Frederick Handel and Barbara Joy, recorded and engineered by Jordan Jackiew for Tailored Recordings.

Joy to the World (Great Joy) is available on Spotify and you can also check out Barbara's music video on You Tube.  Thank you to Connie Rei for the back up vocals and  KAS Systems for producing the video.

Barbara has taken the wonderful, famous Christmas song Joy to the World and has arranged and added a fresh new chorus Great Joy.  This song is now being played by several Canadian Christian Radio Stations!  The piano accompaniment and orchestration by Jordan Jackiew is marvelous together with Barbara's smooth vocals and Connie's rich back-up harmonies.

May 9, 2021 - Barbara Joy is releasing her new spring music video All The Birds.  She wrote the song - lyrics and music and took it to Tailored Recordings in Winnipeg where Jordan Jackiew did the producing and engineering for the song. All The Birds is an absolutely beautiful spring song filled with nature and you can see the new life of spring and hear the glorious sounds of birds. The melody and lyrical lines paint a wonderful spring backdrop for the love of God and the beauty of nature every morning, noon and evening in spring and summer.

Jordan Jackiew worked his magic on the instruments and Corinne Thiessen sang the back-up vocals on this recording. What an amazing team working with Barbara Joy.  

This song has a light folk/pop flavour and will be loved by all who hear it.  You can catch it on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and Pandora.

Happy New Year 2021 -

January 7, 2021 Barbara Joy has just released her latest lyric video Heaven.  The song is  from her album God's Wonder and with the help of Jordan Jackiew from Tailored Recordings doing the production, engineering and musicianship on the song, Barbara has written and sung this beautiful tribute to her dad.  She says " after my dad passed away in May 2013 I wrote this song, but was unable to sing, perform , or share it with others until about 4 years ago I began performing it and then recorded it on my album God's Wonder".  Thanks to the help from KAS Systems, she now has this beautiful lyric video that she has just released.  Be blessed today as you listen to it and go into the New Year with renewed hope and excitement that God has gone to prepare a place in heaven for each one of us.  

 

 November 2020 Barbara Joy has just released her latest Official Lyric Video - Peace This Remembrance Day with Jordan Jackiew for Tailored Recordings and Corinne Thiessen as back-up vocalist. 

This new Remembrance Day song speaks of peace for us all on Remembrance Day and  showing love for one another and all mankind. God gives us the peace that we are needing today and everyday and in all times during our life.

May 2020 during the pandemic Barbara Joy released Pray ( Heal Our Land).  She released two videos of it on You Tube, a lyric video and a music video  and Chvn Radio 1250 did an article on  Made in Manitoba.  Thank you Chvn Radio.  Barbara wrote this song about a year and a half ago and her band had performed it at a concert and a church worship service.  She put  it aside for awhile and during the pandemic she picked it up again and it was the right time to record and release it.  Barbara did the keyboard work and back up vocals and Jordan Jackiew of Tailored Recordings did the other instruments and also did the engineering and production of the song.  The song comes from the verse 2 Chronicles 7:14 , "If my people, who are called by my Name,  will humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear  from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land."  Be blessed today as you listen to Pray (Heal Our Land).  Its on Youtube as a lyric video and also a music video.

Barbara Joy has just released her latest single Stille Nacht, Silent Night ( The Angels Sang)  featuring Rosemary Siemens on violin.   Barbara is again accompanied by Jordan Jackiew of Tailored Recordings , who is the engineer/producer and musician on this Christmas release. It was amazing how the song was recorded.  First this song  was taken  to the studio in Winnipeg where Jordan recorded the initial instrumental tracks and then he recorded  all the vocals and next it was sent to Rosemary's studio in Vancouver  where they recorded her violin parts and sent it back to the studio in Winnipeg for Jordan to mix and master.  Amazing how songs can be recorded in different places and come together so well.  The song has made a few radio playlists and is available on Spotify and Amazon.com and please see below for a Youtube video produced by Steven Kiz.  Corinne Thiessen is singing back-up vocals and Dave Miller has done the amazing guitar work for Stille Nacht.    Barbara is performing it at several services/events this December.  More details to follow on that.

Barbara Joy has just released her new lyric video Remembrance Day.

Barbara Joy is  accompanied by Jordan Jackiew of Tailored Recordings, Dave Miller on guitar and Corinne Thiessen singing backup vocals.  Barbara took close to a  year in total to write the song, re-write and make sure it was saying exactly what she wanted this special song to say for Remembrance Day.  Its a beautiful tribute to those who gave their lives for us so we would experience freedom in our country.  God's peace to all, His love to flow.

  Barbara Joy has just released her newest album God's Wonder.  Its a collection of her gospel and folk/children's music.  She has a love for songwriting and has put together a fabulous collection  with the help of Jordan Jackiew from Tailored Recording. The  combination of Barbara Joy's worship songs, folk and children's music  make a fresh exciting sound.  Lots of sweet harmonies fill each of the songs backed by a full band sound  making  her new album a pleasure to listen to.

Barbara's  CD "A King Has Come" Christmas/Winter Collection was nominated "Seasonal Album of the Year 2012" by the Canadian Gospel Music Awards. Barbara was honoured to be nominated by the GMA and attended the GMA Conference, Awards Gala and Show in Burlington, Ontario November 2012.  This CD is a Christmas/Winter Collection of her own writings.  She recorded it at Family Life Network Studios, with  Executive Producer her cousin, Marshall Zacharias (Avante Records) and Producer/Engineer/Musician Jordan Jackiew (Resosound Productions).  The CD Release Party was held at the La Salle Community Fellowship Church - October 30, 2011. 

Adam Kroeker of ChristianWeek writes this of her new release - A King Has Come -" Indeed the album's force lies in its portrayal of the world through childlike eyes...At times, Joy's soft vocal inflection seems to intentionally mimic that of a singing child."

Rob Williams of the Winnipeg Free Press reviewed "A King Has Come" Thursday December 22, 2011.-" Manitoba singer-songwriter Barbara Joy releases her debut album, an eight -song Christmas/winter collection of original piano-based tunes that probably won't be covered by choirs but makes for a pleasant diversion from the overplayed standards and is as joyful as her name.

All of the songs were written by Joy, who touches on the birth of Jesus on the title track: sings of the simple pleasures of the season on Celebrating Christmas. puts herself in the place of a young hockey player dreaming of a medal on Playing for Gold: and delves into winter imagery on Snowflakes and Mr. Snowman.   Barbara Joy is a singer/songwriter/musician with classical voice and piano background. Barbara has been part of the music scene in Manitoba beginning at a very young age by singing and playing piano, and later teaching, conducting, and accompanying. She is writing and performing her own songs and with her vocals and piano, she has found herself performing at coffee shops, private parties/concerts, and a variety of venues in the city, and Southern Manitoba. Barbara has accompanied several award-winning groups at the Meridian Arts Festival competitions and has helped them achieve high standings. She heads up a band at her church and is a voice and piano teacher, developing young artists.

Barbara Joy is launching her book "New Every Morning".  Its a devotional book that she has written and she has been singing her songs and presenting readings from the book as she has travelled around Winnipeg to promote it.
