Hailing from the coldest and most dangerous city in the heart of the Canadian Prairies…Winnipeg, Manitoba….. Idol Sins are the new hard rock, power trio that rock music fans have been desperately waiting for!

Idol Sins are talented musicians and multi- instrumentalists. As experienced live performers and armed with a strong and diverse repertoire of songwriting, they understand what it truly takes to connect with their audiences night after night! 

Idol Sins are:

Rob McDougall - Lead Vocals/Drums

Geoff Menec - Bass Guitar/Vocals

Jason Burton - Guitars/Vocals

The band members all have a deep and rich history in Canadian rock music both locally and around the world within their immediate families, playing everywhere from local pubs and coffee shops to the big arena stages everywhere.  Rob McDougall is nephew to guitarist Donnie McDougall of Canada’s greatest rock n roll band, the world famous Guess Who! 

After writing, recording and performing together for 13 years under the moniker Lax Luster,  the band members went their separate ways quietly in 2013. Taking a break to raise families and pursue other musical adventures as solo artists and acoustic duos, this would further diversify their musical repertoire. From developing a professional studio, forming a record label, and recording/performing as acoustic duo J&R Underground,  the years since Lax Luster have been hectic but fruitful for everyone. Yet something was missing….unfinished business.  

Getting back together in a room to collaborate once again in 2023 was inspiring and invigorating for the band, both musically and spiritually. It truly felt like the next day, but with renewed energy and a lot more years of experience and insight under their belts.

Feeling inspired and revitalized with the musical chemistry they once shared still red hot, it was decided to retire the Lax Luster name for a new beginning. The new music deserves something very special in its own right and needed a fresh start. A new hard rock, power trio with new energy and a sense of urgency. Out of the ashes of Lax Luster, Idol Sins was born! 

Loud in your face guitars, deep thundering bass and drums, big catchy choruses and vocal harmonies that stick in your head for days…That’s our brand of Rock’ n’ Roll.
