Jana Jacobs' songs brim with a melancholy that has been refined by endless farewells. By the age of 11, the tapestry of her life had been woven across three different countries, and music became her anchor. 

Jana herself says that she is more comfortable singing about her life on stage than talking about it. Despite this, her conversational and intimate storytelling over soft guitar or a quiet beat create an easy yet captivating rapport with the audience. Her richly layered harmonies have the ability to instantly transport listeners to the sunset golden hour. Laidback and playful melodies are woven with introspective lyrics that delve into topics ranging from mental health and intricate relationships to the often chaotic nature of growth. With every soulful note she delivers, listeners find themselves in a comforting embrace, even amidst their own uncertainties.

Since moving to Winnipeg 3 years ago, Jana has accrued a host of performance credits, including Manitoba Music’s New Music Night, Soul Supreme Night, Winterruption 2024, the 2024 Winnipeg Jazz Festival, and a CBC radio placement of her debut single “Sweet Nothings” on Up to Speed with Faith Fundal.
